Hot Dog on a Schtick

Imagine. You're at the mall, waiting for your Hot Dog on a Stick. Suddenly the girl at the counter, along with others around you, burst into song, spinning an apparently spontaneous live musical.

So, after all that work, and pleading for a napkin, why did they only get ONE lousey napking for all that good singing?

If you put a dollar in the jar at Cold Stone Creamery you get a song
from the crew, but these good people couldnt get a knapkin.

Go figure

My 9 yo says she'd either be laughing insanely or horrified. My 7 yo says she'd call the police. My 5 yo just giggled. We were definitely tickled by this.

Dad- which is why I NEVER tip at Cold Stone Creamery.

The first time I tipped at Coldstone and they sang, it scared the crap out of me. It had been a long day, it was like almost 9pm, and I was not expecting that.

We all sat around and watched the hot dog girl and her musical "I Need a Napkin" several times! My kids thought it was soo funny.

Can I get a napkin please? I just wet myself laughing!

I'm sorry, that's great, I would have just jumped right in and sang along much to the dismay of my teenagers.

This has absolutly nothing to do with your post, but it kept me up last night, for a few minutes anyways.

When are you going to find out the gender of you baby? (Why so formal a question, I hate using the other word for gender) I was thinking that if I knew before Keisha I could torment her endlessly (well a few minutes at least). :P I am kidding, I don't expect to know before relatives, but it would be great fun for me. Plus I am nosey and stuff, so I'd like to know. :)

Stephanie- the ultrasound is May 2, but if we do find out the gender, I'm not sure if I'll make it public or not. You know, cuz it would be so much more fun to drive everyone crazy with curiosity. ;)

That's great! How come that never happens when I'm around? I'm with Queen Goob, Why didn't anybody join in and sing along?

Stephanie said...

You would to, at least for me. I am not sure how I made it to the end not knowing during my first pregnancy.

The expression on the peoples faces are just too funny. Some of them even forgets about eating for a second or two :-)

Please excuse this intrusion, but you left a comment on whataboutmom today that sent up a red flag for me. . . holding one's breath while sleeping is a bad sign--often associated with sleep apnea which, in turn can cause heart problems. Sorry, I'm not making this up. Check with your doctor. (And thanks for your comments on whataboutmom. You give me much to think about.)

Marie said...

Nancy- thanks, yeah I had heard it could be a problem, and he snores terribly on top of that, but he gets frequent check-ups and the VA and has a clean bill of health. I appreciate the concern!

Who DOESN'T have the urge to put on a mini musical in the echo-ey food court?

So funny, I loved that exodus of people leaving when they discovered there was more than just one nutcase singing.

I have tears in my eyes! That is hilarious. We always talked about that in high school... what if we just broke into song. OMG. I wish I could have been there. Thanks for sharing.

This is hilarious. I would totally go to the mall more often if this happened. The security guard part was the best!

Thanks for the laugh.

This was SOOOO great!!

Too bad that the folks in the food court weren't all that impressed. I would have thought the Improv peeps would have gotten a standing ovation, or at least hundreds of napkins thrown at them!

But most people though the Improv folsk were nut cases. I loved it!

I especially liked how everyone got kind of worried and wide-eyed when the Security guy showed up, like they thought their might be trouble! hah!
And then they just laughed and shook their heads when more singing happened instead! hahaha

I wonder what the song would be if the Improv team sang in STARBUCKS???

Oh my goodness... that should come with a warning. "Do not watch if your husband and child are asleep." I was laughing so hard I think I woke them up!
